October flew by, and what a fantastic first month it has been as your new Executive Director for the Chamber! Meeting so many of you at the AGM and member visits has been a highlight. Big thanks to everyone who joined us, and a special shoutout to IKEA for hosting our AGM in their cozy Staff Lounge at IKEA Neihu. Major kudos to our outgoing board members and CEO, and big congratulations to the newly elected board!
 
Last night, we kicked off our Inaugural Board Meeting, and I’m excited to share that Charlotta Noren ( NorQual AB) is our new President and Louise Wikstrom (Ekpac) our Vice President – cheers to both! Our 2024/25 work plan is already in motion, with expanded access to B2B platforms, sustainability forum, and public events like Sweden Day. It’s an exciting time to be working as a part of Team Sweden to strengthen the Sweden-Taiwan business community!
 
Coming up, don’t miss our Crayfish Party on Saturday, 9 November, from 17:00 to 21:00 at Maji Big Tent! Expect all the Swedish charm with fresh crayfish, traditional dishes, and Toastmasters from CITO Chalmers who’ll bring the laughs and good vibes. Registration is extended to Sunday, 3 November, so !

SwedCham would like to warmly thanks all members, friends, and attendees for coming to the AGM . During the event we did a review of the past year's activities, financial updates and election of board members. We also had presentations from the Swedish Representative, Helena Reitberger and Martin Vercouter, Business Sweden. After the meeting we had networking with Swedish food and drinks provided by IKEA.  Also, big thanks to Keli Yen, the outgoing CEO for her hard work and dedication in the past year!

A big thank you to Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (Lisa Ferraton) for hosting the APAC SwedCham CEO Talk, and special thanks to Nicholas Fang, Senior Advisor at The Asia Group, for facilitating the conversation and bringing up thought-provoking topics and discussion points.

Magnus Ahlqvist shared that Securitas Group is a service-driven business where trust and strong relationships with customers are key. There is a high growth rate in Asia, and Securitas aims to focus on strengthening its position in the region. Rather than aiming to be the largest, Securitas Group strives to be the best at what they do.

We met individuals from various fields and had the opportunity to learn from our member companies’ panel discussions - Atlas Copco, Business Sweden, Camfil, Ericsson, Nefab and SHL Medical.

Ericsson has been awarded a major contract by Chunghwa Telecom to modernize its network with eco-friendly, high-efficiency 5G radio access technology. This partnership advances Chunghwa Telecom’s Net Zero goals for 2045 by using energy-efficient solutions like the dual-band Radio 4490HP and AI-driven power-saving tools. Ericsson's innovative Site Digital Twin technology will also streamline network design, helping meet Taiwan’s growing connectivity needs sustainably.
