Kwangyin Liu

Senior Managing Editor at CommonWealth Magazine

I have been an environmental journalist for over a decade, contributing to CommonWealth Magazine in Taipei. With a focus on topics ranging from energy transition to climate change and the automotive industry.

I’ve garnered recognition through multiple accolades. My stories covering the controversial solar power expansion in Taiwan and China’s One Belt One Road ambitions in Southeast Asia have earned Honorable Mentions from the Society of Publishers in Asia. Moreover, my story on the environmental and human costs of lithium mining in Chile was honored with Taiwan’s prestigious Vivian Wu Journalism Award.

I am a pro bono ambassador for Clean Energy Wire, a Berlin-centric media outlet focused on energy transition. I also edit CommonWealth's English website and host the Taiwanology podcast.
