Dear Subscriber,

Covid-19 is still ravaging around the world and brings with it both humanitarian and economical consequences. Through everyone’s hard work and determination we all managed to maintain Taiwan as a safe space for over 16 months but now we’ve taken a hit and everyone’s scrambling for vaccines to make sure we can get back to normal again.

Seeing our AGM has been postponed I want to take this opportunity to detail some of our more prominent activities these past 10 months. Even though we’ve had to postpone events such as our Midsummer party in Da’an Forest Park and the National Day of Sweden celebrations, the Chamber has tried its best to maintain momentum during the spring and we’re looking ahead with a positive mindset.

In closing I would like to thank the SCCT Board of Directors and Supervisors for the
commitment and partnership this past period, our organisation is strong because of you.

I wish you the best of summers and we hope we will get to meet with everyone again real soon!

A farewell to Julia
We bid farewell to our intern Julia (Pictured below with our friends at Perstorp Taiwan) who has now spent 12 months with the Chamber. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for all the hard work Julia has put into making SCCT the vibrant community it has become. Leading our Young Professionals community, managing every detail of our daily operation, planning and executing events while never losing sight of the big picture and the complexities of business, the business landscape within and outside the organization and all the stakeholders involved. While I will miss working with Julia each day, I take comfort in the fact that she's moving to a very exciting position, advancing her career as the associate editor for AmCham Taiwan's Business TOPICS Magazine.

I big thank you also to the Swedish Scholarship Fund, which not only has agreed to fund a new intern for SCCT once Taiwan border controls ease up, but has also agreed to increase the scholarship amount with 210%.
