Our 2020 Annual General Meeting took place on September 24th, in Henry’s bar at The Sherwood hotel. This was our first physical Chamber event since December 2019 when COVID-19 struck down and it’s safe to say that expectations on this event were high. We saw a record turn-out and we’re very glad that that so many of our members could make it. The event turned out to be a great success with many staying to mingle until late that night. In addition to going through the formal agenda covering previous years activity report, finances and electing this years Board of Directors and board of Supervisors we were treated to a speech by Mr Ben Blanchard from Reuter’s about the upcoming election in the United States, and what effects own trade, political stability and simmering regional tensions this may have on Taiwan.
We also had the great pleasure of having Mr Daniel T.C. Liao visit the AGM as our guest of honor. Mr Liao who was Taiwan’s former representative to Sweden between 2016-2020 was awarded with an honorary lifetime membership in the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei and a warm round of applauds for his efforts, support and very important contributions to the development Taiwan-Sweden relations.
Below are the elected Directors and Supervisors headed up by Mr Hugo Asplund who continues his tenure as Chairman of the Chamber from previous year. We very much look forward to work with you all during this coming year and an especially warm welcome to our two newest Directors; Mr Glenn Lio and Ms Matilda Guthartz Pålsson.
