A warm welcome to this 2nd newsletter for 2022. Q1 closing is at our doorstep and so is a beautiful long weekend and knowing everyone is working hard to meet your numbers we will cut to the chase!

Most of you reading this have most likely done internship yourselves at some point in your career.

Being an intern means working and learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry – in a supportive, open environment where you can ask anyone anything.

You hopefully got to work on challenging projects and develop your skills in the areas you’re most passionate about. You learned a lot and you learned a lot about yourself too. About your strengths, your interests and the areas to develop as you gazed forward to your future career.

It's time for us all to give back and open our doors to both international and Taiwanese students and we were very pleased to see 7 member companies joining our two sessions together with Talent Circulation Alliance, our partner who also helped prepare company applications to join the internship partner program.

We would like to thank everyone who supported, donated and joined our soup kitchen Charity Event. Over the course of a full day over 60 members and friends of the Chamber chipped in manpower and close to 60.000NTD to bring a square meal to over 250 homeless outside Taipei main Station. 

Representatives from Texas Roadhouse Taiwan 德州鮮切牛排, IKEA, Atlas Copco Taiwan, Höganäs AB, Tetra Pak, TCO Certified, Mindful ROI, Scrapmoment, Scania Taiwan, Abso Capital Partners, Quectel Wireless Solutions, 麻將大師 Mahjong Masters & ViralAccess donated and were on the scene with our partner 田永利 and team, and everyone's view is that this was one of the most meaningful and eye-opening moments of their lives.

This was not a one-off event, our partner does this almost every 2nd week and we are looking to replicate our event very soon and as soon as we gather up 30.000NTD to buy the food we need.

Golfers couldn’t have asked for a better day to play than what we were dealt last Friday at Sunrise Golf & Country Club, Taiwan for the 2022 Swedish Chamber Spring Golf Challenge.

Under blue skies and low humidity, 13 players took on the beautiful and well-kept course in support of #Swedish business in #Taiwan and PACK Taiwan 巴克幫-浪犬之家, our local dog sanctuary, which now benefits from 3900NTD in Mulligan purchases.

Even though we played for fun, in the end there can only be one winner and the trophy is now sitting on David Chou's mantelpiece. Congratulations brother!

A great interactive learning experience!

This year we delivered close to 1000 semlor to our members in Taiwan.

Just like everyone else right now, and regardless of business you are in, we fought our way through supply chain woes and found the right ingredients, only be hit by delivery issues but like the tortoise beating the rabbit racing around the woods - slow and steady wins the race and we came through with semla deliveries all the way down to Kaohsiung!

We are already looking forward to next year!

We are pleased to announce that SCCT will be collaborating with Business Sweden on a joint 'Team Sweden' Business Climate Survey for 2022/2023.

We aim to get the questionnaire to you beginning of April and we hope that as many as possible take the opportunity to voice your opinion about business in Taiwan, how we cab strengthen this important relationship and grow trade and exchange between our two economies.

In other news we would like to give a huge shoutout to Taiwan's cross-country skiing hero Mr. Errol Chen.

Taiwan is half a world away from Sweden, the epicenter of Nordic skiing. It has no cross country skiing culture, no skiing programs, no skiing mentors. But that isn’t stopping Errol Chen from trying to master cross country skiing and dreaming of the Winter Olympics.

Chen, a 32-year-old marathon runner from Keelung City, Taiwan, is currently in Sweden where he just took part in the gruesome 200 KM race in the very north of Sweden.
